Datenschutzerklärung
This site is small and so is the amount of data it handles. We do not run advertising, we do not sell data, and nothing is loaded from third parties unless you have agreed to it. Below is what happens in detail, under the GDPR.

Visiting this site
Our hosting provider records each request to the server in a log file. This includes your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. We need this to deliver the site and to recognise attacks and faults; the legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. These logs are kept for a short period and are not combined with anything else.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, acting as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR. The server functions run in Netlify’s Frankfurt region. Netlify is a US company, so access from the USA cannot be ruled out; the transfer is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Images
Photos are delivered from Cloudflare R2 storage in the European Union via media.sektorartists.com. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, again as our processor and on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses. Your IP address is visible to Cloudflare for the moment it takes to serve an image.
Fonts
The typefaces used here are served from our own domain. No request is made to Google Fonts or any other font service, and no data leaves your browser for that purpose.
Links to artist profiles
Where we point to Instagram, SoundCloud, Spotify, Resident Advisor or an artist’s own page, those are ordinary links. Nothing from those services is embedded or loaded while you are here — data reaches them only once you follow the link, and from then on their privacy policy applies.
Google Analytics
We would like to know roughly how many people visit and which artists they look for. For that we use Google Analytics 4, operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
It only runs if you have agreed. Until then, no script is loaded from Google and no cookie is set. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG. You may withdraw it at any time, with effect for the future:
If you agree, Google sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, which expire after two years and hold a randomly generated identifier. Google processes your shortened IP address, the pages you view, and general details about your device and browser. We have switched off Google signals and ad personalisation.
Everything Google records about a visit — the pages, the time, the rough origin, the identifier in the cookie — is deleted after two months, counted from your last visit. That is the shortest period Google offers. What remains afterwards are counts without reference to a person: how many people read a page in a given week, and nothing about who.
Google LLC in the USA is involved as a sub-processor. It is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 applies. Even so, US authorities may in principle request access to such data, and you cannot enforce the same rights there as you can in the EU. Your consent also covers this transfer, under Art. 49 (1) (a) GDPR.
Storage on your device
Apart from Google Analytics, we store exactly one thing in your browser: your answer to the question above, under the name sektor:analyse. It holds the word yes or no, is never sent to our server, and exists so that we do not ask you again on every page. Clearing your browser storage removes it, and you will be asked once more.
Getting in touch
If you write to us — about a booking or anything else — we process your message and your contact details in order to answer it, under Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR. We keep the correspondence for as long as the matter needs and delete it afterwards, unless commercial or tax law requires us to keep it longer.
Artists on this site
The profiles here contain names, photographs and biographies of the artists we represent. We publish them to do our work as their agency, on the basis of our agreement with them under Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Photographers are credited where they asked to be. The texts and dates are stored with Neon Inc. in a database located in Frankfurt, Germany; the photographs are stored as described above.
Your rights
- Access to the data we hold about you (Art. 15)
- Correction of anything inaccurate (Art. 16)
- Erasure (Art. 17) and restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- A copy in a portable format (Art. 20)
- Objection to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21), and withdrawal of any consent you have given (Art. 7 (3))
A message to the address above is enough. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The one responsible for us is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin.
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Changes
As the site grows, this policy will follow it. The version you are reading is the one that applies to your visit.
